A museum showcasing the history, heritage, tradition and culture of Kerala, especially the erstwhile 'Vetatathu Nadu' opened at Thunchath Ezhuthachan Malayalam University, Tirur in Malappuram Dt. The museum was inaugurated on 26th of August 2016 and has six divisions.

A museum showcasing the history, heritage, tradition and culture of Kerala, especially the erstwhile 'Vetatathu Nadu' opened at Thunchath Ezhuthachan Malayalam University, Tirur in Malappuram Dt (Kerala). The museum was inaugurated on 26th of August 2016 and has six divisions namely – 'Acharyavaranam', 'Aksharavidhya', 'Ganithasasthram', 'Vaidyapaithrukam', 'Karshikapaithrukam' and 'Vanigyam'.

The life and history of personalities like Thunchath Ramanujan Ezhuthachan, Melpathoor Narayanan Bhattathirippad, Vallathol Narayanan Menon etc are exhibited in Acharyavaranam. The gallery Aksharavidhya showcases the evolution of letters, manuscripts, etc. The contributions and attainments of the world renowned mathematicians of the locality – Thalakkulathu Bhattathiri, Vadassery Parameswaran, Neelakanda Somayaji etc., including some literary compositions are conserved and illustrated at Ganithasasthram. Vaidyapaithrukam showcases the Ayurvedic tradition whereas Karshikapaithrukam exhibits the agriculture implements of the bygone era and illustrates the history of agriculture in Kerala.   Vanigyam showcases the heritage of Kerala in terms of economy. The museum is open for public.

Most of the artifacts and antiques of the museum was collected through crowd sourcing. Dr K M Bharathan, Dr P Satheesh and Dr G Sajina of Malayalam University are in charge of this Museum.

Thunchath Ezhuthachan Malayalam University was established with an objective to promote Malayalam language, literature and Kerala culture. Mr K Jayakumar, IAS is the present Vice Chancellor of the university.
