Temple festival with holy processions, Kettukazcha/Padayani processions traditional orchestras, etc. 

The annual festival held at the Palli Bhagavathy temple at Neelamperoor near Kottayam is an offering to Goddess Bhagavathy, the main deity of the temple. Final day is most important and celebrated as Pooram Padayani. The highlights of the festival is the spectacular procession featuring Kettukazcha (effigies of Swans) of varying size, carried on shoulder of the devotees or pulled by them on wheeled platforms.

All these days the processions are conducted in the late night, which are accompanied by percussion music of Kerala. Different types of edifies are brought to this temple on these days and the last two days are characterised by the display of Annams (swans) which are made of plantain stems and tender leaves of coconut tree with floral decorations. Many folk rituals- Kudam Pooja Kali, Thotha Kali,  Vela Kali, etc are performed here during these days.

Location/access: The temple is situated at Neelamperoor, about 10km from Changanassery and 16km from Kottayam.
