Festival at Kodugallur Bhagavathy temple.


The most spectacular event is Kavu theendal, in which hundreds of oracles, men and women in red costumes and holding swords, accompanied by devotees making rhythmic sound using bamboo stem and throwing turmeric powder, pepper etc., rush to the temple premise creating a terrifying scene. This is observed on 08 April.  Processions by ladies carrying plates with oil lamp and flowers will arrive the temple on last day morning. The idol of Bhadrakali is about 6ft height.  Vasoorimala, considered as the Goddess for Chickenpox and small pox is a subsidiary deity here.
