Kerala Shadow Puppets to French Theatre

Ms.Helene Lamarche, a young artist from France, visited Kerala and stayed here for a month with traditional shadow puppeteer Ramachandra Pulavar from Kunathara (Palakkad Dt) in order to study and understand the tradition shadow puppet theatre of Kerala and the art of making of puppets. 

UNESCO ‘Award of Excellence’ to Thrissur Vadakkumnathan Temple

The 'Award of Excellence' by UNESCO this year is for the conservation efforts of Sree Vadakkumnathan temple in Thrissur. The Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation has a total of 12 winning projects from five countries - India, China, Lao PDR, Australia and Thailand. 

Rhythms of Cultural Exchange

Appreciation of music and musical instruments can surpass all national and cultural boundaries. Yuhei Motoyama, an expert Taiko drummer from Japan was in Kerala, recently, as part of a cultural exchange program between Japan Foundation, Delhi, and the Vayali Folklore Group, Thrissur.  

National Painters' Camp at Malampuzha
Kerala Lalithakala Akademi organized a week-long national painters camp at KTDC Garden House, Malampuzha, Palakkad  in June 2015. Twelve renowned artists from accross the country  including Kerala participated in the camp. 

Kerala Tourism's Muziris Heritage Project wins PATA Gold Award
Kerala Tourism has bagged this year's prestigious Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Awards for its Muziris Heritage Project in the 'Heritage & Culture' category.

Chefs from Kerala participated Gannat Festival, France 
Members of 'Sreelakshmi' Kudumbashree unit at Edaneer in Kasargod- Ambika and Rathi - had a very special privilege to function as chefs at the UNESCO-sponsored international folklore festival of Gannat, France.
