Lola Martin, an acclaimed choreographer from Spain has been in Kozhikode for a three day training workshop on flamenco and belly dance. Flamenco is a Spanish dance form known across the world for its percussive footwork and intricate hand and body movements. The workshop, held in the last week of August 2013 was organized by Fashion Runway Model Management, a model management institute based at Kozhikode.

Lola Martin is an enthusiastic in travelling and learning and with several trips to the Middle East, she learned Belly dance. Since 2005 she is teaching Belly dance in Spain.  She is also trained in many dance forms like Egyptian folk, Gypsy dance, African dance, Hip hop and contemporary dance forms.  She also learns Indian classical dances Bharathanatyam (from Sohini Roychowdhury), Kathak (from Rocio and Sikta Devi) and Mohiniyattam, the Kerala specialty from Eugenia Carrillo from Spain.  She also works as a freelance dancer in Bollywood (Indian cinema) and has performed in some movies as well.

At present she is working with many artistic groups in Spain and other countries. Moreover she is the national director of Miss India Spain.  She continues her constant love for dance through travelling and learning different places and cultures.
