Heritage Paintings on School Walls

The Calicut Regional Chapter of INTACH, Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Hetitage, organised a one day painting camp for students from the selected schools of Kozhikode city.

The four schools which participated in this mission were- Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School, Parayancherry, Zamorin’s Higher Secondary School, Thali, Govt. Vocational Higher Secondary School, Kuttichira and Jumayathul Islam Higher Secondary School, Bombay Street. The student artists drew the heritage of the nearby street on the walls of their respective school.  The artists Shaji Kavil, Dineshan Kariyad, Vinod Vattanippara and Sitha Raj all from Green Brush Initiative, Quilandy, under the leadership of Artist Naveenkumar extended their service to support the student artists. 

According to Mohan K, the Convenor of the chapter, the painting camp was conducted as a part of the Children's Day celebration (14 Nov 2014) with an aim to create awareness among children regarding the value of the local heritage through a creative assignment. INTACH, is a Delhi based public organisation involved in the propagation and conservation of the Heritage of India.
