Kochi-Muziris Binnale 2012 has won the Readers Travel Award 2013 for the excellence in promoting cultural tourism, instituted by Condé Nast Traveller India.

Kochi-Muziris Binnale 2012 has won the Readers Travel Award 2013 for the excellence in promoting cultural tourism, instituted by Condé Nast Traveller India.  On behalf of Kochi-Muziris Biennale and all its supporters Bose Krishnamachari and Riyas Komu received the award and certificate of honour.

The three-month-long international exhibition of contemporary visual art, India's first art biennale co-curated by Bose Krishnamachari and Riyas Komu, began on 12-12-2012 hosted 89 artists from 23 countries. The selected artworks of the students and children were also displayed in the gallery. The biennale was held in 14 venues in and around Fort Kochi and Ernakulam. It highlighted the cosmopolitan past of Kochi and its predecessor, Muziris, and brought Kerala to an international limelight there by boosting its cultural tourism.

The Kochi-Muziris Biennale Foundation announced the next edition of Kochi-Muziris Biennale, which will commence on December 2014 for which the preparations are well under way.
