A flea market on creativity titled 'Peace Village' has been organized in Kozhikode city on 12th & 13th of October 2013

A flea market on creativity titled 'Peace Village' has been organized in Kozhikode city on 12th & 13th of October 2013 by the charity organization JOSAH. The event was a platform for the artists and other creative people to express their talents and sell their works. The venue for the event was the Calicut (Kozhikode) beach and the shade trees provided the perfect ambience for the event which showcased the coupling of creativity and charity.  Artists, photographers, craftsmen and students from schools and colleges participated in the event. The evenings were concluded with Music and film shows.

The event was organized as part of the official launch of the organization JOSAH - Join Our Stand Against Hunger. The organization is the brain child of three youngsters Ms Sharanya Kanakraj, a freelance architect from Kozhikode, Ms. Sherin Kadeeja, Assistant Professor at Global Institute of Architecture, Palakkad and Mr. Shanid Kallungal, a businessman from Kozhikode.  They are in charity activities for some time and the social support received from different parts of the society led them to form this organization.

According to Sharanya, the event was successful in terms of its objective related to the artists and creative people. “We also plan another event in Fort Kochi, in Jan 2014, for that we are looking for sponsors, which will give additional boost to  our ultimate aim of fund raising for the movement towards the eradication of poverty,” she said.
