The walls of the Kozhikode district Collector's Chamber are now adorned with the traditional murals of Kerala.

The walls of the Kozhikode district Collector's Chamber are now adorned with the traditional murals of Kerala. In an effort to promote the culture and heritage of Kozhikode (Calicut), Mr.Prasanth, IAS, the District Collector, the district administrative head in Kozhikode mounted 10 m long traditional style mural on the walls of his chamber at District head quarters in Kozhikode. Drawn in 1m X 10m  area long canvass, the painting reflects the diversified culture and heritage like -Revathi Pattathanam, Puthiyara Tile factory, Beypore Uru, Kuttichira mosque, Thali Shiva temple, Mananchira, Kallai timber yards, Kunjhali marakkar, Thira, Kalarippayattu, Thikkodi light house, etc.

The traditional style of painting has been created by the artists from Sargalaya Craft Village, Iringal. Headed by Naveen kumar Meppayur a Mural artist and Conservation specialist with a the team of experienced mural artists - Kunchan Manasseri, Shyju Narikkuni, Praveen Keezppayur and Sunil Vaka.
