Muziris is the ancient port town of Kerala, believed to be situated near the present Kodungallore.  Kerala Tourism Department has plans to develop this area whole as 'Destination Muriris, which will portray the varied culture and heritage of ancient Kerala.  Stop Over @Muziris is a new accommodation facility on the bank of the River Periyar, which will be an added facility for the travellers who want to stay closer to the heart land of Muziris.

Constructed with a blend of modern and conventional architecture, Stop over @Muziris has three well furnished bed rooms, apart from kitchen and dining areas. It will come under the 'Serviced Villa' category of the Kerala Tourism Department.

Mr. Subhagan, who is an industrialist and passionate promoter of local culture and heritage of Muziris is the owner of the property.  He has already a collection of over 70 plus antiques and artefacts which he has displayed at the villa under the banner 'Kerala Lifestyle Museum'. He is also promoting the local communities such as weavers, potters, toddy tappers etc. Mrs. Usha, 65year old lady who cooks all ethnic dishes of Kerala is the Care taker of the villa. The villa is in Valiya Paniker Thuruthu (V P Island), near Kodungallore in Thrissur District. It is situated between Moothkunnam and Kottappuram in National Highway 17. Fort Kochi is 26km and Kochi International Airport is 25km.
