17 students from Sai Ayurvedic College, Miami, Florida  visited School of Ayurveda & Panchakarma, Kannur for getting practical training in Panchakarma and other therapeutic aspects of Ayurveda. The team headed by the Director of Sai Ayurvedic College, Ms. Cookie Tello, stayed in Kannur for a month last November as part of their course schedule in Florida. Here they learnt practical panchakarma and methods of preparing oils and other medicines.

According to Cookie Tello, their college has the approval from Florida Department of Education & National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA) in US. Cookie said that the tie up with the School of Ayurveda and Anjali Ayurvedic Spa in Kannur  started 3 years ago and this is the third consecutive year that the students from Sai Ayurvedic College are getting trained.

Sai College is conducting 2 year courses in Ayurveda and granting certificate as well as Associate Degree in Ayurveda.  They can practice in U S, as health consultants or co-practitioners. There is lot of interest in Ayurveda & alternative medicines among the new generation doctors in US, So medical doctors, Yoga teachers, Acupuncturists, chemists, come to study Ayurveda to incorporate it into their profession.

She also said “Because there is no Ayurveda hospital in US, I came to India to find a school in India that would cater to the advanced training and experience in Ayurveda to my students. We came three years ago to School of Ayurveda & Panchakarma, Kannur, after searching many in India. Now I am happy with Dr.Rajesh and Dr. Sapna”.
