Kochi Muziris Biennale 2025 at Kochi

6th Edition of Kochi-Muziris Biennale titled “For the Time Being” at Kochi for 110 Days.

Kochi Muziris Biennale (KMB) is the international exhibition of contemporary art organised by Kochi Biennale Foundation, a collective of artists. KMB, which unfolds every two years, brings together artists from across India and the world. The international art festival is held across the historic neighborhoods of Fort Kochi and Mattancherry.

KMB ’25, the 110 days international art festival, will run from December 12, 2025, through March 31, 2026. This year, KMB conducted across 22 venues in the Fort Kochi, Mattancherry, and Ernakulam, exhibits the works by 66 artists and collectives from 25 countries.

The 6th edition of KMB, titled “For the Time Being”, is curated by renowned artist Nikhil Chopra with HH Art Spaces, an artist-led organisation based out of Goa.

Alongside the main exhibition, it hosts parallel events including talks, film programmes, workshops, residencies, and educational projects. Some of the key programs include - the Students’ Biennale, Invitations, Art By Children, the Residency Programme and the Collateral.

The Kochi-Muziris Biennale is India’s first biennale of international contemporary art and one of the largest exhibitions in Asia. Its aim is to create a platform to introduce contemporary international visual art, theory, and practice to India; to showcase and encourage debate on emerging Indian and global aesthetics; and to foster dialogue among artists, curators, and the public.

Nikhil Chopra is an internationally renowned artist whose practice interweaves live art, drawing, photography, sculpture, and installation. 

HH Art Spaces, North Goa, founded in 2014 by Nikhil Chopra, Madhavi Gore and Romain Loustau, is an organisation that promotes artists and produces exhibitions and artist residencies, talks, and workshops, in contemporary and traditional artistic practice-based research, bridging transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary practices through collaborations and partnerships.
