Ettunombu Perunnal at Manarkadu St.Mary's Church, Kottayam district

01-08 Sept 2025:Ettunombu Perunnal at Manarkadu St.Mary's Church-  The annual feast, Perunnal at the St. Mary's Church at Manarcad and the Eight day fasting, known as Ettunombu, are celebrated during these days. This is the feast of Immaculate Conception celebrated by the Christian community of Kerala. Usually, the devotees stay in the church from morning till night during these days for observing the fast. The main offering here is Muthukkuda, the silken parasols. The last three days are more colourful with processions carrying the golden crosses and accompanied by thousands of devotees holding muthukkudas(Parasols). The main feast is on 8th of Sept.
