Date: 31 Dec 2024 - 02 Jan 2025; Kaliyattam at Alavil Kalathil Kavu with ritual folk performances- Theyyam/Thira, Vellattam, Thottam and ceremonial processions and religious rituals.

Vellattams performances of Gurukaranavar, Sasthappan (Nercha) are held on the first day, after sunset. Second day performances include Gurukaranavar Theyyam, Gulikan Theyyam, Sasthappan Theyyam (all in the morning before sunrise), Bhairavan Vellattam, Sasthappan Vellattam, Padaveeran Thottam (& Payattu), Bhagavathi Vellattam ( all are performed after sunset to mid night). The final day performances are Bhairavan Theyyam, Sasthappan Theyyam, Padaveeran Theyyam, Bhagavathi Theyyam (from 4am to 10am). The festival ends before noon.
Location/access: Kalathil kavu is at Alavil, 4km from Kannur; from Alavil Junction on Valapattanam road.
