Thira festival at Nadol Bhagavathi Kshethram, Vatakara, Kozhikode District

25- 27 Dec 2024: Thira/Theyyam festival at Nadol Bhagavathi Kshethram

Vellattams of Gulikan, Kuttichathan, Kallu Kettil Kavil Bhagavathi and Khandakarnan are held one by one on the starting day after sunset. 

The highlights of the second day performances are Mundayaamparambu Valiya Thaburatty Thottam (9am), Muthukaranavar Vellattam (12 noon).  Kaithachamundi Thira (2pm), Pothi Vellattam (2.30pm), Mundayamparambu Valiya Thamburatty Thira (3.30pm), Muthappan Vellattam (5.30pm), Kallukettu Kavil Bhagavathi Thira (9pm), Kuttichathan Thira (10pm), 

Final day performances are Mundayaamparambu Cheriya Thamburatty Thira (2am), Vasoorimala Vellattu  (3am), Chiratta Kanalattam (4am), Pothi Thira (5am), Khandakarnan Thira (6am), Thiruvappana Thira (7am), Gulikan Thira (8am), Perumpuzhayachan Theyyam (9am), Muthukaranavar Thira (11am), and Vasoorimala Thamburatty Thira (12noon).

Ceremonial processions and other rituals are also held during these days as part of the festival. 

The temple is at Nadol, west of Vatakara Railway station, in Kozhikode dt, Kerala.
